Films with Variant Themes at Competition Category

 Three Films with variant themes will be screened today (14/12) at the Competition category. The Argentinean film Refugiado, Malayalam Film Unto the Dusk (Asthamayam Vare) and Iranian Film Oblivion Season are scheduled to be screened today.
The film Refugiado portrays the story of a mother and son, who decides to leave their hometown due to the hardships and the after effects of Civil War. This Spanish movie, directed by Diego Lerman, will be screened in Sree Theatre at 9.15 am. Spirituality, retribution and unexpected encounters with nature form the philosophical background of the Malayalam film Unto the Dusk, directed by Sajin Baabu. This film will be screened in New Theatre at 11.30 am. The fight of an ex- sex worker for attaining her individual freedom is the main plot of the Iranian Movie Oblivion Season. The movie, directed by Abbas Rafei, will be screened in Kairali Theatre at 2.30 pm. The Bengali movie ‘Eighty Nine’ directed by Manoj Michigan will be screened for the first time under the category of Indian Cinema Now in Kairali Thatre at 9am. My Mother’s Smile by Marco Bellocchio will be screened in Sree Theatre at 2.45 pm, under the Life Time Achievement category.
The opening movie of the fest Dancing Arabs will be screened in Kairali Theatre at 9 pm. The films, which grabbed maximum audience’s attention at its first screening itself, The Blemished Light, The General, The Longest Distance, Obvious Child, Come to My Voice, Myth Of Kleopatra, Six Feet High, Return to Ithaca , Aces, Clouds of Sils Maria and Happily Ever after are included in the second screening today.
