48 FILMS SCREENED ON THIRD DAY OF IFFK

Forty Eight films under 11 different categories were screened on the third day of 19th IFFK. Film lovers thronged into all the venues. Kairali- Sree-Nila Theatre Complex witnessed a huge crowd to view the world renowned films.
Seven films were screened under the International Competition section. A girl at my door received great audience appreciation. Unto the dusk by Sajin Baabu, Refugiado by Diego Lerman, Bright Day by Hossein Shahabi received best remarks from the delegates. 23 films were screened in world cinema session. Difret (Ethiopian), Oil Maker’s Family (Chinese), I am not him (Turkey) were well received. Two films each were screened in Retrospective, Country Focus, Malayalam Cinema Today, and Contemparary Masters in Focus sessions. Under the category Indian cinema today 4 films were screened.
After an interval of two years Open Forum has been re introduced in the fest, which was a major opportunity for the delegates to interact. The forum, organized by The Federation of Film Societies of India- Keralam, discussed the topic `Taking the Regional Films to the World’.  The presence of eminent dignitaries like Film maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Casting Director Uma Da Cunha, Writer and Film Scholar Gonul Donmez- Colin and curator Amrit Gangar made the programme interesting. Senior Journalist M.G.Radhakrishnan was the moderator. The audience participation made the session more open and live.
A seminar on New Media technology and Novel distribution methods was also conducted. Ujwal Nirgundkar, Chairman, SMPTE India spoke in the session. M Adeyapartha Rajan, Sajin Baabu, Raj Amit Kumar and Manoj Michigan attended the session of Director’s meet.
