The much awaited Festival of Kerala
that has already made its signature in the land of gods, the 19th edition of
IFFK commences from 12 December to 19 December. The week long grand celebration
comprises of over 140 films by the most eminent film makers from all over the
world. With 10 Film Packages including the competition section, the festival
screens 61 films under the category of World Cinema Section.
Eran Riklis’s Dancing Arabs will be
screened in the Inaugural Ceremony. The presence of Tawfeek Barhom, who played
the main character, will be a noted highlight of the event.
The fest will be the venue of various
interactive sessions like, Meet the Director, In Conversation Sessions, Open
Forums and Seminars along with Exhibitions. Help Desks and Ticketing Counters for
reservation of tickets will be functioning at all Theatre Complex for the
Delegates.
The immense participation of delegates
has already enhanced the glory of the fest. The Delegate Cell was inaugurated
by the honorable minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan in the presence of dignitaries
like Adoor Gopalakrishnan and MA Baby on 8 December. Over 9000 passes already
issued, the delegate cell is functioning with great enthusiasm waiting for the
grand opening of IFFK.
